Cheering Up the Winter Doldrums

Nothing’s worse than dealing with gray, cold days throughout the winter.  Louisville is a beautiful town when the sun is out and the grass is green.  However, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) can hit hard when everything is brown, gray and gloomy. Fortunately, Louisville is loaded with so many new restaurants and activities during the winter to chase the blahs away!

Here are a few of the new hotspots:

Red Hoglocated at 2622 Frankfort Avenue, this fun new restaurant and butcher has a great new take on pork and they raise their own hogs.   The owners also own Blue Dog Bakery.  While seating is sparse during the winter, it has a beautiful outdoor area during warmer weather.  It’s also a millennial favorite!

The Table Café-located at N. 18th Street at Portland Ave.  This new local farm-to-table restaurant is only open for lunch (11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.).  Their mission is to serve locally grown food and provide a meal to everyone, whether they can pay or not.  The food is amazing and you have the chance to help the community of Portland with every meal.  That should warm you up on a cold winter’s day.  The true taste of Community!

Harvest-located at 624 E. Market Street.  Another farm-to-table local restaurant that has a fantastic Saturday & Sunday brunch!  All their recipes use ingredients within a 100 mile radius of Louisville, so it really is locally grown.

And for Comedy…

Jeff Dunham-This comedian is hilarious and will be in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on April 19th.  This is the best way to laugh off the winter blues!

Super Bowl Sunday! –Sunday, February 4th, 6:30 p.m.   Even if football isn’t your thing, go to a party at friends or colleagues.  There’s sure to be good food and lots of laughs just watching the commercials and the half time show.

These are just a few around town, but they’re something new to warm a dull winter’s day!  Give them a try.  If your lease is coming due please give Summit Executive Suites a tour.  We might also be a change you want to make in the New Year.

Focus on Growth, We’ll Handle the Rest!
