As we head into the fall and, hopefully, more bearable weather, many events take place outdoors in Louisville. Check out a sampling of upcoming events and celebrations:

Kentucky State Fair – a 10-day celebration of Kentucky pride and agriculture featuring daily free and paid concerts from multiple genres and national acts.

Louisville Jazz Festival – Iroquois Amphitheater, 7pm – 11pm

Jazz in Central Park – An evening of Jazz under the stars. Free admission. 5pm – 8pm

Big Four Arts Festival – Waterfront Park on the Big Four Bridge Lawn that consists of four acres of tree lined walks overlooking the Ohio River.

National Jug Band Jubilee – Brown Forman Amphitheater. The nation’s best gather in the city that started it all.

NuluFest – East Market Street, blocks 600 – 800, 11am – 9pm. Features live bands, local food, craft beer, bourbons, and local and regional vendors. Please note that there are no pets allowed at this festival.

Louder Than Life – the ultimate whiskey, food and rock & roll experience outdoors located at the Highland Festival Grounds at the KY Expo Center.

St. James Court Art Show – Held among the country’s largest collection of Victorian homes in the heart of historic Old Louisville. This juried fine arts and contemporary crafts show features over 600 artists from across the US. Free admission.

PeteFest – Located on a stunning nature preserve, Jones Fields. Enjoy music, culture, art and community through local artists and businesses. Offered by The Pete Foundation, which aims to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
